ISLAMABAD – Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday summoned caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar in the case of missing Baloch students.
Justice Mohsin Akthar Kayani passed the order while hearing the case of missing Baloch students.
Justice Kayani observed that the punishment for enforced disappearances should be death penalty; those involved in enforced disappearances should be given the death penalty twice.
During the hearing, Assistant Attorney General Usman Ghumman who was representing the federal government requested that the Attorney General was not available, and asked the court to adjourn the hearing.
The law officer pleaded that they needed more time in this case to which Justice Kayani observed that it is his kindness that he did not summon both Director Generals.
“The Prime Minister should appear before the court on Monday at 10:00 am,” remarked the judge, with directive to the caretaker prime minister to personally appear before the court.
The court adjourned further hearing of the case till Feb 19.
