A major fire broke out at a building in Islamabad’s I-8 Markaz on Wednesday, as thick smoke can be seen across the area and creating difficulties for people nearby.
The blaze started around 5:15–5:30 PM from the corner area of a restaurant. Residents reported that smoke spread throughout the commercial centre, affecting visibility and making breathing difficult in some parts of the area.

Fire brigade teams later reached the scene and launched efforts to control the flames and prevent the fire from spreading further. The Islamabad District Administration confirmed that firefighting operations are underway, with multiple fire vehicles deployed at the site.
Eyewitnesses claimed that the first fire response arrived after a delay, while authorities have yet to confirm the exact cause of the fire, the extent of damage, or any casualties.
The situation remains developing as emergency services continue their operation. Citizens are advised to avoid I-8 Markaz routes and give way to emergency vehicles.
