LAHORE – It is mandatory to keep a valid LTV or HTV driving license while driving smalls trucks, vans or heavy vehicles as absence of it can lead to heavy fines or legal actions.
LTV (Light Transport Vehicle) and HTV (Heavy Transport Vehicle) driving licenses are issued to individuals in Punjab based on the type of vehicle they are going to operate.
LTV licenses are for those who drive light vehicles, such vans, and small trucks, while HTV licenses are required for driving heavy vehicles like large trucks, buses, and trailers.
The issuance process for LTV and HTV licenses in Punjab involves a written test, driving test, and medical examination. License holders are required to renew their licenses promptly upon expiration.
The Punjab government charges a renewal fee for a one-year period, with fines applicable depending on the renewal delay, ranging from one month to a year. Additionally, a courier fee is also collected for the delivery of the renewed license.
LTV Driving License Renewal Fee
The renewal fee for an LTV license is Rs1,850, with an additional Rs480 courier fee, bringing the total cost to Rs2,330 if no fines are imposed.
In case of delayed renewal, fines are applied as follows: a Rs925 fine for delays up to three months, Rs1,850 for delays between three and six months, and a substantial Rs4,625 fine for renewals delayed up to one year.
HTV Driving License Renewal Fee Update
The renewal fee for a HTV license is Rs1,850, with an additional Rs480 courier fee, bringing the total fee to Rs2,330 if no fines are imposed.
