ISLAMABAD – The capital traffic authorities have issued an advisory for December 8 and 9, warning of heavy traffic congestion on several major roads.
The peak hours are expected to be between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm on December 8, and 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm on December 9. Key roads affected include Faizal Avenue, Express Highway, and Srinagar Highway.
Due to expected disruptions, commuters are urged to use alternative routes and avoid unnecessary travel during these hours.
The Express Chowk and Marriott Gate will be closed as part of the traffic management strategy in the Red Zone.
For those traveling to the Red Zone, authorities advise using Serena, Nadra, and Margalla Road. Commuters traveling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad should take Rawal Road, Ninth Avenue, Fakhr-e-Ap Road, and Srinagar Highway.
Those heading to Rawalpindi from Islamabad can use Zero Point, Srinagar Highway, and Ninth Avenue as alternate routes. Residents from Muri and Bara Kaho should take Koreng Road, Bani Gala, Park Road, and Lehtrar Road to avoid traffic congestion.
Islamabad Traffic Police will have officers stationed at key points to guide drivers.
