LAHORE – Pakistan has seen a significant surge in local mobile phone production, with smartphone manufacturing reaching 53% of the total mobile output in October.
This marks a notable achievement in the country’s growing manufacturing capacity, both from local and foreign companies.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said over 25.1 million mobile phones were produced locally in the first ten months of the current year. Out of these, 13.2 million were smartphones and 11.9 million were 2G feature phones.
The data revealed that, by the end of October 2025, 94% of Pakistan’s mobile phone demand was met through local production — a remarkable improvement compared to previous years.
Top Mobile Manufacturers in Pakistan for 2025
Based on PTA records, Infinix emerged as the leading mobile phone manufacturer in Pakistan in 2025.
Other prominent local manufacturers include VGO Tel, Vivo, iTel, Tecno, Samsung, Xiaomi, QMobile, Realme, and GFive.
Experts believe that the growth in local production will continue, with a potential 7-8% increase in mobile phone sales over the next year.
Pakistan’s Mobile Phone Imports Surge by 53%
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s mobile phone imports have surged by 53.18% in the first four months of the 2025 fiscal year, with a total value of $644.6 million. The rise in imports reflects an increasing demand for mobile devices across the country.
According to an official survey, from July to October 2025, Pakistan imported $644.6 million worth of mobile phones. This marks a significant increase compared to the $420 million worth of mobile phones imported during the same period last year.
