PESHAWAR – Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has unveiled a revised gas supply schedule for domestic consumers, following the restoration of supply after a recent explosion in the main transmission line.
The company has implemented a three-times-a-day gas supply schedule due to the limited capacity of the alternate line used for distribution.
Deputy Commissioner Sanaulla said the 24-inch pipeline, which serves as a key source for delivering gas to Peshawar, Mardan, and Swat, was damaged in the blast.
In response, Sui Northern has started supplying gas through a 16-inch replacement pipeline, but due to the smaller capacity of the alternative line, there will be a reduction in gas availability.
Gas Supply Schedule
Domestic consumers will receive gas during three specific time slots: from 5:00 am to 9:00 am, 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, and 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
However, CNG stations will remain temporarily closed due to the disruption.
Meanwhile, Sui Northern’s General Manager, Waqas Shnwari, has speculated that the pipeline explosion was likely a result of terrorism, as gas pipelines typically do not catch fire due to leaks.
The incident took place in Hassan Khel, which has led to a significant disruption in gas supply across various cities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
