LAHORE – The newly elected Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced broader changes in her maiden speech and now reports attributed to the first female CM claimed a ban on arms licenses.
Last year in September, the interim Punjab government started the process of accepting online applications for arms licenses, and now there are reports about suspension of arms licenses in the region.
Punjab Arms License latest update
Amid the contrasting reports, a spokesperson of CM cleared that there is no suspension of arms licenses. It clarified that newly-elected Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has not given the order for suspending arms licences in the province.
CM Maryam’s spokesperson also made it clear that no decision has been made to merge all education boards into the provincial board.
The spox said media organisations are required to verify the news before publishing them.
Steps to apply for Arms License
- Fill out the arms license form with all required information, and attach a copy of your CNIC
- Get your verification done from the police station
- The applicant must personally appear before the DC along with a copy of their valid ID Card
- DC will then authorize issuance of arms licenses based on form.
- Payment of Rs2000 in fees for the arms license form is pre-requisite.
- Submit the forms at the arms licensing issuing branch in the DC Office. A copy of the license will be issued, and the applicant can purchase a firearm from an arms dealer.
