In a vibrant display of culture and unity, the Sindh Governor House hosted grand Diwali celebrations. The event saw a large turnout of the Hindu community, international artists visiting for the World Cultural Festival, various Consuls General, and Ramiz Ibrahim, the gold medalist of the Mr. Universe competition. During the festivities, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori shared in the joy of the occasion by cutting a cake with representatives from the Hindu community. The celebration featured a spectacular fireworks display, adding to the festive atmosphere. Governor Tessori addressed attendees, emphasizing that Diwali is celebrated worldwide as a symbol of joy, love, and happiness, particularly for the Hindu community.
He extended his heartfelt congratulations to all those celebrating the festival. He remarked, “Pakistan is a bouquet, and we are all its beautiful flowers, ensuring this bouquet remains fragrant.” He highlighted the importance of equality for all citizens, stating, “Minorities have equal rights in Pakistan, and they play a vital role in national development.”
The governor expressed his admiration for the Hindu community’s contributions to the nation. Emphasizing inclusivity, he asserted that every resident of Pakistan, regardless of their religion, is equal in the eyes of the state, and assured that no discrimination based on religion would be tolerated. Later, the Governor Tessori honored Ramiz Ibrahim with a gold medal, along with traditional gifts, including a shawl, a Jinnah cap, and medals for the international artists participating in the festival.
Ramiz Ibrahim dedicated his gold medal to Governor Tessori, expressing gratitude for the encouragement and motivation he received. The celebrations not only marked a significant cultural occasion but also reinforced the message of unity and equality among Pakistan’s diverse communities.
