The federal government on Wednesday directed to conduct of a special audit of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee, focused on Najam Sethi’s tenure.

A letter was penned down to the Auditor General of Pakistan, urging to initiate an audit specifically focused on the former PCB Chairman – Najam Sethi’s tenure.

The letter emphasizes the need for a comprehensive examination of the expenses incurred during Sethi’s term.

The authorities have called for the audit to cover the period from December 22, 2022, to June 20, 2023, without any delay. The audit will scrutinize various aspects, including the utilization of funds and the privileges granted to temporary management committee members, including Najam Sethi. It is worth noting that the federal government had established a temporary management committee for the PCB in December 2022. However, multiple complaints regarding alleged unnecessary expenditures by the management committee prompted the government to take immediate action.
