Governor Sind Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan on Independence Day, acknowledging their immense struggle for freedom. Speaking at a ceremony organized by students from Gilgit-Baltistan at the University of Karachi, he emphasized that this historic day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices and bravery of our brothers and sisters from the region. The event saw significant attendance from university officials, including the Vice Chancellor, deans, professors, and a large number of students. During the cultural show, Governor Tessori participated in traditional dances alongside the students, fostering a spirit of unity and celebration. In a significant announcement, Governor Tessori revealed that a quota for the ongoing free IT courses under the Governor’s Initiative would be reserved for the youth of Gilgit-Baltistan. He also stated that laptops would be provided to these students to facilitate their learning. Highlighting the rich natural resources and beauty of Gilgit-Baltistan, Governor Tessori praised the region’s residents for their courage, love, and hospitality. He acknowledged their vital role in the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and pledged to work collectively towards the nation’s development. Following the ceremony, Governor Tessori visited the University of Karachi’s admission guidance camps, where he engaged with students and gathered information about the admission process. The students expressed pleasant surprise at his presence, taking the opportunity to share their concerns regarding transportation and fees. The Governor assured the relevant authorities at the University of Karachi to address the students’ concerns effectively. He commended the university for its crucial role in promoting higher education and training, highlighting the importance of guiding new students through the admission process and appreciating the enthusiasm of the students involved.
