LAHORE – Punjab CM free laptop scheme is likely to be extended to students of private college and universities in order to empowering youth and bridging digital divide.

Currently, the free laptop scheme only benefits the students of public university and college, who obtains minimum 65 percent marks in intermediate.

For public sector medical & dental colleges/university, the minimum marks for eligibility set at 80% in Intermediate.

Punjab Free Laptop Scheme for Private Students

Punjab Chief Minister maryam Nawaz on Tuesday chaired a meeting of ministers and secretaries where she directed the authorities concerned to submit a proposal for allocating laptop quotas for private colleges and universities.

Meanwhile, a comprehensive plan has been developed to help workers in Punjab to own a house, with 20,000 laborers set to receive 3-marla plots in Jhang and Kamalia.

As part of the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar initiative, the workers will also have access to special loan facilities.

CM Maryam Nawaz has called for swift action to ensure the timely completion of this project. Additionally, she has directed that greenery be enhanced along railway tracks, roads, and canal banks across the province.

In a bid to improve forest safety, she announced the installation of an advanced fire alert system capable of detecting fires up to 20 minutes in advance.

A special monitoring system will also be implemented to prevent illegal tree cutting and ensure the protection of forests.

To support youth and promote sports, the chief minister ordered the organization of monthly championship events to nurture young talent.
