Dg Ispr Slams Fake Afghanistan Strikes Reports Amid Soaring Border Tensions

RAWALPINDI – Pakistan’s armed forces spokesperson opposed wave of explosive rumors after foreign media and social platforms erupted with claims that Pakistani forces launched a covert strike inside Afghanistan’s Khost region.

Director General ISPR Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry had informal meeting with senior journalists, and made it clear that “Pakistan conducted no operation in Afghanistan. Whenever we act, we announce it openly.”

His statement instantly cut through the frenzy, halting speculation that had gripped political and military circles overnight. But the firestorm did not end there.

He further sheds light on case of former ISI chief Gen. (retd.) Faiz Hameed, saying court-martial is legal and judicial process. There should be absolutely no speculation. The media will be informed the moment any decision is implemented.”

This firm remark sparked fresh intensity into already volatile national debate, as the case continues to draw massive public and institutional attention.

The region is still reeling from deadly suicide attack on security compound in Peshawar, which left three officers martyred and over dozen wounded. The tragic incident reignited demands for decisive action against cross-border militancy.

Ties between Islamabad and Kabul are now sliding deeper into crisis. Border clashes, collapsed ceasefire efforts, and bitter accusations from both sides about harboring hostile militant networks have pushed tensions to a boiling point.

A trade bottleneck erupted at the frontier, where thousands of containers remain stranded, racking up crushing daily fees and choking vital commerce.
