KARACHI – Gold prices in Pakistan surged to Rs456,536 per tola, marking Rs27,600 increase over the week. The latest jump came after gold gained Rs2,200 on Saturday, while the 10-gram rate rose Rs1,887 to Rs391,406.
Gold prices extended their winning streak on last working day, with the precious metal climbing another Rs2,200 per tola as international bullion rates continued to strengthen.

Saturday’s surge came on the heels of another sharp increase a day earlier. On Friday, gold had surged Rs5,100 per tola, taking the local rate to Rs454,336.
The latest gains were in line with developments in the international market, where gold rose $22 to $4,341 per ounce, including a $20 premium.

With gold prices continuing to move higher both locally and internationally, the precious metal remains firmly in the spotlight for investors and buyers tracking the bullion market.
Silver, however, moved in the opposite direction. Its price dropped Rs113 per tola, settling at Rs6,826 in the local market.
