KARACHI – Pakistan’s gold prices soared to fresh all-time high on August 7, crossing Rs454,000 per tola as a strong rally in international bullion markets pushed local rates sharply higher.

The price of 24-karat gold increased by Rs5,100 per tola, taking it to an unprecedented Rs454,336 per tola. The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also witnessed a substantial rise, climbing Rs4,372 to settle at Rs389,519.

The latest increase comes just a day after gold registered another major jump of Rs11,300 per tola, when prices closed at Rs449,236, highlighting the relentless upward momentum in the bullion market.

Internationally, gold continued its rally, with the price climbing $51 per ounce to $4,319, including a $20 premium. The sustained strength in global bullion markets provided fresh impetus for domestic prices, which closely track international trends and currency movements.

Silver also joined the upward trend, with its price rising Rs280 per tola to reach Rs6,939, reflecting broad-based strength across precious metals.
