LAHORE – The final lunar eclipse of 2026 is scheduled to take place during the ongoing month, providing second cosmic event to skywatchers in August 2026.
The event will occur on August 28, around two weeks after people witnessed total solar eclipse in different parts of the world.
Where it will be visible
The celestial event is expected to be visible across several parts of the world, including Europe, western Asia, Africa, North and South America, and parts of the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans.
However, skywatchers in Pakistan will not be able to observe the August eclipse.
Lunar Eclipse August 2026 Time
According to the provided timings, the penumbral phase will begin at 6:24 PST, followed by the partial eclipse at 7:34 PST. The eclipse will reach its maximum at 9:13 PST, while the later eclipse phase will end at 10:52 PST. The penumbral phase is expected to conclude at 12:02 PST.
The August 28 event will also be visible from Antarctica, making it observable across a broad geographic area.
The previous lunar eclipse of 2026 took place on March 3. It was visible across eastern Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America, as well as the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans, the Arctic and Antarctica.
In Pakistan, the March eclipse was partially visible around moonrise.
The August event will therefore mark the final lunar eclipse of 2026, although it will not be visible from Pakistan.
