RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir hosted a reception on Independence Day in honor of Pakistan’s former military personnel.
The event was attended by former army chiefs Raheel Sharif and Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, and large number of retired officers and soldiers attending the event.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Field Marshal Asim Munir paid tribute to veterans for their valuable services to the country’s defense and national security.
He praised the contribution of former servicemen to strengthening national resilience, describing their experience and guidance as a valuable institutional asset for the Pakistan Army. He also emphasized that their guidance remains important as the country faces an evolving security environment.
The veterans expressed full confidence in the leadership of the Pakistan Army and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the armed forces in addressing emerging security challenges.
They also pledged to continue contributing to national unity, peace, stability and prosperity.
During the reception, the sacrifices, experience and longstanding contributions of veterans to Pakistan’s defense were recognized and appreciated.
