ISLAMABAD – Toyota recorded significantly higher sales than Honda during July 2026 with company’s Corolla and Yaris models outpacing Honda’s Civic and City.
The breakup figures showed that 2,529 units of Honda Civic and City were sold during the month, compared with 1,143 units in the same month last year, marking a substantial increase in sales.
Meanwhile, Toyota Corolla and Yaris sales rose 77.12% year-on-year to 4,283 units, up from 2,418 units in the corresponding month of the previous year.
Overall, Pakistan’s car market recorded a sharp year-on-year increase in July 2026, with total sales rising by 141.28% during the first month of fiscal year 2026-27, according to data from the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA).
Automakers sold a combined 17,216 cars during the month, compared with 7,135 units in July 2025.
Suzuki models accounted for a significant portion of the increase. The Suzuki Swift recorded the strongest growth among the major models, with sales reaching 2,018 units, compared with 522 units a year earlier—a rise of 286.59%.
The Suzuki Alto also posted a substantial increase, with monthly sales climbing to 7,217 units from 2,327 units in July 2025.
Other Suzuki models also registered gains. Cultus sales increased to 392 units from 239 units, while Every sales rose to 493 units from 320 units over the same period.
However, not all models experienced growth. Hyundai Elantra sales fell by 57%, dropping to just 25 units in July 2026 from 66 units a year earlier.
The electric vehicle segment also showed positive momentum. Sales of Dewan Honri-VE reached 48 units in July, doubling from 24 units recorded in the same month last year.
