ISLAMABAD – The stop list compiled by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to bar suspects from going abroad now has more than 1,000 names on it.

Sources revealed it as the government is taking measures against the persons involved in current economic crisis in the country.

The suspects, who have been banned from leaving the country, include close aides of former Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah, provincial governments’ officers, politicians, businessmen, and others.

Sources said those who have been added to the list are allegedly involved in corruption, tax evasion, illegal transactions, smuggling and donors of political parties.

They said all officials of the immigration department deployed at the airports have been directed to ensure that no any person with fly ban leaves the country.

The suspects also include officers of the Pakistan Customs department, including Customs Collectors Saqif Saeed, Usman Bajwa and Amir. They were added to the no-fly list over various cases related to corruption.

The list of the suspected Customs officials was sent to the FIA by the anti-corruption circle for fly-ban on them.
