Father of Musaddiq Aadil passes away

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a prominent leader of Jamaat–e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir, Wali Muhammad Adil, passed away in Sopore town, on Sunday evening.

According to media reports, Wali Muhammad Adil who remained in jail for several years for his attachment to the Kashmir cause died after a pro-longed illness in New Colony area of the town.

He was 100. He was a staunch opponent of Indian ille-gal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir and was also an associate of veteran martyred leaders Syed Ali Gilani and Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai.

The deceased younger son Khursheed Ahmad Aadil was arrested by Indian troops in early 90s and was subjected to enforce disappearance in the Indian army custody while his elder son Musadiq Aadil is struggling for right to self determination at the Hur-riyat platform.

Some family members of the de-ceased are, presently, residing in Muzaffarab, AJK.
Hurriyat leaders including Miwaiz Umar Farooq, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar, Prof Abdul Ghani Butt, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Farooq Ahmad Tawheedi and Hassanul Bana prayed for the Jannah for the departed soul and said that he rendered in-valuable services in the struggle for Kashmir’s right to self-determination.

The Convener AJK APHC Chapter, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement in Islamabad also expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Wali Muhammad Aadil.

He also ex-pressed profound shock over the sad demise of a prominent advocate and human rights activist of Chogal Handwara, advocate Abdul Ghani Chowgli in his native town, yesterday.

Hurriyat AJK leaders at a meeting in Islamabad paid rich tributes to the deceased veteran jamaat-e-Islami leader. The meeting was attended by Mir Thahir Masood.—KMS
