KARACHI – Famous travel provider company Faisal Movers’ operations have been halted over safety violations after deadly accident.

Faisal Movers’ operations have been suspended in the Motorway North Zone from December 31, 2024, to January 29, 2025. The company will only be allowed to resume services after fulfilling the safety requirements outlined in the National Highways and Motorway Police’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

The stern action comes as over several people lost their lives while nearly three dozen suffered injuries in Islamabad bound bus. After back-to-back disasters, the company had its operations suspended for days within Motorway North Zone in the wake of tragic accident, as a probe revealed multiple violations of safety regulations by the company and its driver.

During probe, officials found several breaches, Motorways Police found that the passenger bus was found to be operating on route that it was not allowed to. Although it had a permit to travel between Kot Mithan (Rajanpur) and Rawalpindi, the bus was instead traveling on CPEC Motorway.

It said the operating on an unauthorized route amplifies risk of accidents, as the driver may not be familiar with road or conditions. Faisal Movers also failed to provide access to tracker’s data to National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP), violating safety protocols that help prevent accidents.

It also mentioned that the bus driver was driving for over five continuous hours without taking break or having a co-driver to share the driving duties.

These vehicles banned from using motorways in Pakistan from Feb 5; Details inside
