Extreme weather causes extra load on power distribution system

Chief Executive IESCO Dr. Muhammad Amjid Khan said on Friday that due to heat wave, energy consumption often skyrockets to cool down the temperature. Air conditioning is constantly used where accessible and distribution system has been bearing much load resultant in increase of feeder, transformers and customers individual complaints.

IESCO chief Amjad said that our field formations are active and handling running situations actively, professionally. He further added that during recent heat wave IESCO has been bearing electrical load of 3050MW.IESCO Chief said that accordingly available power quota given by national grid 2 hours load management is being carried out in whole IESCO region and blame of extra load shedding in IESCO is totally baseless as few elements considering temporary discontinuity of power due to faults and technical issues as load shedding.

IESCO CEO urged residents to limit power use in the late afternoon and early evening so that power continuity could be ensured.
