KARACHI – The Sindh Excise and Taxation Department has issued a reminder to the public, urging them to replace their old vehicle number plates with the new, future-designed plates at the earliest.
The department issued a notification outlining the importance of this change, stressing that failure to comply with the directive could lead to strict legal action against the vehicle owners.
The notification advises all motorcycle, car, and other private and commercial vehicle owners across the province to replace their yellow-colored or old number plates with the newly designed future number plates by next month.
The department has warned that those who fail to follow the new rules will face hefty fines under traffic laws. Additionally, those who have not yet collected their new number plates from the relevant centers are advised to do so without delay.
It is recalled that the Sindh government decided last month to replace vehicle number plates across the province.
It instructed vehicle owners to purchase new plates within a specified time frame. However, a significant number of vehicles are still using the old plates.
