Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi chaired a comprehensive review meeting for the Chehlum of Imam Hussein (RA) on Monday, attended by all Deputy Commissioners, DIG South, DIG Traffic, and officials from relevant departments, focused on ensuring foolproof security and meticulous arrangements for the central procession. It was decided that special security measures will be implemented for the procession, with a strong emphasis on cleanliness along the procession routes and around mosques and imambargahs.
The Solid Waste Management Board will oversee sanitation, while the Water and Sewerage Corporation will handle water supply arrangements. The Traffic Police will develop a dedicated traffic management plan.
The meeting also saw participation from senior officials of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, town administrations, the Solid Waste Management Board, the Chief Fire Officer, and representatives from K-Electric.
The General Secretary of Jafariya Alliance Pakistan, Syed ShabbirRizvi, and other organizers were also present. A detailed briefing on the arrangements for the central chehlum procession was provided, highlighting the commitment to providing top-notch security and ensuring all procession routes are well-lit and clean.
