Cold and dry weather is predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of Pakistan on Friday evening and night, as well as during the weekend.
A further decrease in the mercury level is expected due to clear skies during the weekend.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, cold and dry weather is predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of the country on Friday evening and night, as well as during the weekend. Freezing weather is expected in the northern parts. Fog (in patches) may develop over plain areas of northeast/south Punjab and upper Sindh during the period.
Islamabad’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 03°C and 05°C on Saturday, between 04°C and 06°C on Sunday, and between 03°C and 05°C on Monday.
Rawalpindi’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 06°C and 08°C on Saturday, between 05°C and 07°C on Sunday, and between 06°C and 08°C on Monday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and most parts of the country during the last 24 hours. Freezing weather prevailed in the northern parts of the country. Fog (in patches) prevailed in the plains of Punjab and upper Sindh.
Leh remained the coldest place in the country, where the temperature dropped 10°C below the freezing point. The minimum temperature in Astore and Skardu was recorded at -06°C, in Gupis at -05°C, in Dir, Kalam, Gilgit and Quetta at -03°C.
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 04°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 93 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, the minimum temperature was recorded at 07°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 20 per cent.
