Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has stated that air ambulance service 1122 is being launched in the province.

He stated this while addressing a meeting of Punjab Emergency Council in Lahore. He stated that scope of motor bike ambulance service is also being extended to twenty-seven districts of the province. The meeting approved Punjab Emergency Service Employees Regulation 2022 in principle and directed Cabinet Standing Committee for Law Affairs to review its draft.

The meeting also approved risk allowance for rescuers and one basic pay.

Chief Minister chaired the 7th meeting of the Punjab Emergency Council at his office which in principle approved Punjab Emergency Service Employees Regulation, 2022 and directed the cabinet standing committee for legislation to review its draft.

It also approved giving a risk allowance, equal to one basic pay, to rescuers and directed the finance department to take steps in this regard.

The CM disclosed that the motorbike rescue service would be launched in all the 36 districts in Punjab by July as its scope was being expanded to 27 districts. The past government spurned this important institution and the Punjab Emergency Council meeting was not called for eight long years; he lamented and pointed out that the incumbent government has modernized the rescue 1122 service to help the people in need. After 2015, new 258 ambulances have been provided to rescue 1122; he stated and expressed the satisfaction that air ambulance service was also being introduced.

PES DG Dr Rizwan Naseer thanked the CM for extending the necessary cooperation. Law Minister Raja Basharat, MPAs Musarat Cheema, Khadija Umer, chief secretary, IG police, ACS (Home), administrative secretaries and others attended the meeting.

On the other hand CM in a statement reiterated that opposition was making futile efforts for a no-confidence move as the government has a visible major-ity in the number game.

CM asserted that the no-confidence move would not succeed even if all the opposition parties are united adding that the opposition alliance should not boast about no-confidence as its member parties have already ex-pressed distrust over it. Regrettably, the opposition has negated the national interests; he maintained and reiterated that the government would complete its constitutional term as it is not threatened by the opposition parties. Opposition’s political ploys have al-ready remained unsuccessful and it would also face defeat in future, the CM concluded.
