LAHORE – Large sections of the internet experienced disruptions on Monday after a major technical fault at Cloudflare.
Users attempting to access platforms including X (formerly Twitter) and others received error notices indicating that Cloudflare’s systems were unable to load the requested pages.
Cloudflare, a key global provider of web infrastructure, supports countless websites by offering cybersecurity protection and managing heavy traffic loads to keep services running smoothly. The outage affected parts of its network, leading to widespread accessibility issues.
Even outage-monitoring service DownDetector briefly malfunctioned due to the same technical glitch. Once it became operational, the site recorded a sharp rise in reports from users facing difficulties across the web.
“Cloudflare is aware of, and investigating an issue which potentially impacts multiple customers,” the company said in a new update. “Further detail will be provided as more information becomes available.”
Those trying to access the affected sites were met with a notice stating that Cloudflare’s network had encountered an internal server issue. The message advised visitors to wait a few minutes and attempt to reload the page.
