Four suspects including two accused of a child rape, were killed in an alleged shootout with police.
According to Faisalabad CPO Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry, the police party was taking accused Sajjad Dholaki and Allah Rakha, arrested in the rape and murder of 14-year-old boy Zain, to recover weapons.
He said to rescue them, eight accused attacked the police party. The CPO also said that both the accused and two assailants were killed in the alleged shootout.
According to the police, 41 cases of robbery and rape were registered against the deceased attacker Abid Hussain and 43 against Khalid.
LCCI lauds govt’s reopening decision
The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday welcomed the government decision to reopen the educational institutions across the country.
In a statement, LCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, Senior Vice President Ali Hussam Asghar and Vice President Mian Zahid Javaid Ahmed said that reopening of the educational institutions nearly after six months is appreciable.
They said that reopening of businesses with SOPs and now schools, colleges and universities are a progressive step to revive the economy as well as save the precious time of students. The office-bearers of LCCI said that students across the world are struggling to catch up the timeline set for the examination year.
They said that LCCI is also in favor of reopening all the sectors of the economy with strict compliance of SOPs. Following the SOPs will definitely prevent the further spread of the pandemic without putting extra burden over the economy, they added.
