Good news for wedding hall owners, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar approved opening of wedding halls, date for which will be announced soon.
According to sources, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar has given approval to open marriage halls. After approval, Punjab Chief Minister has sent a summary to the Cabinet. The Punjab Cabinet Committee on Legislative Business will take a final decision in this regard on Wednesday (today). The Cabinet Committee will announce the date for opening of wedding halls. The committee will also determine the SOPs for opening marriage halls, the implementation of which will be the responsibility of the marriage hall management. According to sources, they will be monitored after the opening of marriage halls. In case of violation of SOPs, marriage halls will be banned again.
In addition, the Punjab government has declared marriage halls exempt from various taxes. The Finance Department has sent a summary of the exemption to the Cabinet.
On the other hand, preparations have been completed to drop mask bombs on women in the marriage halls SOPs of the Punjab government. However, the government has sought suggestions from the owners of marriage halls to avoid any mischief and make it mandatory for women to wear masks. It may be recalled that marriage halls across Punjab, including Lahore, were closed in March due to the Corona virus. However, after the situation in Corona came under control, the Punjab government decided to open marriage halls.
Meanwhile, Minister for Labour & HR Mr. Ansar Majeed Khan chaired a progress review meeting at PESSI Head Office. Mr. Khalid Mehmood Malhi, Vice Commissioner PESSI, briefed the minister regarding collection of Social Security Contribution, registration of new units, purchase of medicines and medical equipment as well latest progress on automation programme.
The minister directed the Vice Commissioner to prepare plan for providing Social Security benefits to the Dependents of deceased Secured Workers even upon natural death and to amend the law accordingly.
He further said that unregistered units be covered on priority basis and special efforts be made to bring brick kiln workers under the domain of PESSI. All the Chamber of Commerce be informed about automation programme and positive steps be taken after getting suggestions of all the stakeholders.
Later on, talking to media the Labour Minister told that mechanism is being made to facilitate the Labourer of housing industry. He explained that all cases of marriage grant, death grant and Scholarship have been finalized uptill 2018.
To improve the working condition Labour Department is being computerized, many IT project are under process. Mr. AnsarMajeed stated that online management system is established to monitor Social Security Hospital’s Performance. Patients can registered their complaint with health complaint management system.
