Like other parts of the country, the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) was observed in twin cities with a religious spirit, devotion and respect on Monday. In this connection, the Majalis Aza programmes, seminars and conferences were held in various areas and towns to highlight the sacrifices and the services of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) for Islam.
A remarkable display of Shia-Sunni unity was witnessed on this occasion.
The central Chehlum processions in Rawalpindi and Islamabad were traditionally taken out from Imambargah Ashiq Hussain, Teeli Mohalla, Imambargah Hifazat Ali Shah, and Imambargah Colonel Maqbool Hussain, with thousands of mourners participating.
The processions were led by the head of Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya, Allama Agha Syed Hussain Muqaddasi.
While addressing to media representatives and mourners during the Chehlum procession, Allama Agha Syed Hussain Muqaddasi, the head of Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya paid rich tributes to the Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), and his 72 companions who sacrificed their lives for the holy cause.
