CEO K-Electric Moonis Alvi met with President of the Orangi Traders Association Abdullah Batra as well as with senior leadership from the Karachi Chamber of Commerce Law & Order Committee today.
KE was received positively and CEO apprised the forum of the progress that the utility has made since privatization. Alongside this, the traders were also given an update on the status of KE’s 900 MW power plant as well as the ongoing challenges arising from the non-availability of cheap natural gas which is leading to expensive electricity production for Karachi.
Ensuring KE’s support towards addressing the operational challenges faced by the business community, CEO KE agreed to creating a forum with representation from traders and KE to work together in resolving complaints and supporting their businesses.
