Chairman Founder Group, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, M Akram Farid on Sunday said that staff of CDA sealed shops of more than 30 shopkeepers and tenants in the F-10 Markaz, G-8 market, Super Market and CDA workers were in so a hurry that they did not allow a trader to come out, and forced him to languish inside his sealed shop and was rescued five hours later.
He said this while addressing an emergency meeting which was attended by the members of Founder Group and Traders Welfare Association F-10 Center office-bearers and members.
The inhuman treatment of the government staff caused a wave of grief, anger among the traders.
Akram Farid strongly condemned the action and said that taking such steps in the context of Covid-19 was highly irresponsible and beyond understanding.
He said that in case of any extreme action by the authority, the business associations and the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry should be informed in advance so that all such differences between the two sides could be resolved and the issues could be settled amicably.
He said, Capital Development Authority should take such steps with great care and wisdom and avoid such measures which would tarnish the image of traders and their lives and property.
Chairman Traders Welfare Association F-10 Markaz, Muhammad Tahir Abbasi strongly protested on the occasion and said that the CDA chairman should take stern notice of such actions and punish the officials.
