PESHAWAR – Pakistani security forces gunned down over a dozen members of the Indian-backed militant group Fitna Al Khwarij in two separate, intelligence-driven operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In a press release, ISPR said the joint operation by Security Forces and law enforcement agencies in Paharkhel, Lakki Marwat, targeted a militant hideout. After a fierce exchange of gunfire, ten Khwarij were neutralized.
The second operation was conducted in Dera Ismail Khan District, and three more militants were killed in a similar high-intensity engagement. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants, who were actively involved in attacks against security personnel, law enforcement agencies, and civilians.
Authorities launched follow-up clearance operations to ensure no Indian-backed militants remain in the area. These decisive actions are part of the relentless counterterrorism drive under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” initiative, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, aiming to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country once and for all.
The latest operations is major step in Pakistan’s ongoing campaign to dismantle terrorist networks and safeguard its citizens against external threats.
