Pakistan Shaheens beat Sri Lanka A by five runs in the second semi-final in Doha on Friday to reach the Asia Cup Rising Stars final.
Shaheens will lock horns with Bangladesh A in the final on Sunday, November 23, in the Asia Cup Rising Stars Final.
Chasing a decent 154-run target for victory, Sri Lanka A were bundled out for 148 in 20 overs, despite a flying start given by their openers.
Milan Rathnayake was the highest scorer with 40 off 32 balls, hitting five fours and one maximum. Opener Vishen Halambage contributed 29, followed by his fellow opening partner Lasith Croospulle, who made 27 off just seven balls. No other batter could enter the double figures.
Sufiyan Muqeem and Saad Masood bagged three wickets apiece, and Ubaid Shah, Ahmed Daniyal and Shahid Aziz one each, while Garuka Sanketh was run out while trying to steal a single on the last ball of the match. Saad Masood was named Player of the Match for his exceptional show with the bat and ball.
After being put into bat by Sri Lanka A skipper, Pakistan Shaheens reached 153/9 in their quota of 20 overs.
Wicket-keeper batter Ghazo Ghori was the top scorer for Green shirts with an unbeaten 39 off 36, laced with two fours and one maximum. Maaz Sadaqat contributed 23 off 11 balls, hitting two fours and two huge sixes. Ahmed Danyal and Saad Masood contributed 22 runs each, while Mohammad Naeem made 16 runs.
Pramod Madushan bagged four wickets and Traveen Mathew three, while Dunith Wellalage and Milan Rathnayake took one wicket each.
