The third phase of Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections set political battleground in Bagh buzzing, with unofficial and unconfirmed results now trickling in from key constituencies. LA-14 Western Bagh, LA-15 Central Bagh and LA-16 Eastern Bagh revealed fierce contests, with several candidates taking early leads as the vote count continues.
In LA-14 Western Bagh, Awami Dast-o-Bazu Chairman Sardar Sajid Iqbal emerged as early front-runner at several polling stations, repeatedly securing sizeable leads over his closest rivals. At one polling station in Dhirkot, Sardar Sajid Iqbal secured 165 votes, while Muslim Conference heavyweight Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan managed 99 votes.
The momentum continued at the Government Girls High School polling station, where Sajid Iqbal widened his lead with 219 votes. PPP’s Raja Mubashir stood second with 109 votes, while Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan received just 84 votes.
11 PM Update
In LA-14 Bagh 1, Awaami Dast-o-Bazu candidate Sajid Iqbal is leading by a significant margin, securing 40,309 votes from 212 of the constituency’s 214 polling stations. Muslim Conference candidate Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan is in second place with 19,029 votes.
In LA-16 Bagh 3, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Sardar Mir Akbar Khan is leading with 9,243 votes from 84 polling stations, followed by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Sardar Qamar Zaman Khan, who has secured 7,144 votes.
In LA-15 Bagh 2, PPP candidate Zia Qamar is ahead with 5,200 votes from 45 polling stations. PML-N candidate Muhammad Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas is in second place with 2,244 votes.
Meanwhile, in LA-17 Bagh 4, PML-N candidate Chaudhry Mohsin Aziz is leading with 443 votes based on results from just two of the constituency’s 199 polling stations. PPP candidate Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore is currently second with 344 votes.

At Hothla polling station, Sajid Iqbal again topped the unofficial count with 228 votes, compared with 170 votes for Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan. The trend remained unchanged at Patdar Mastoor, where Sajid Iqbal secured 134 votes against Attique Ahmed Khan’s 49 votes.
At Ghoori Kair polling station, Sajid Iqbal once again led the unofficial count with 123 votes, while Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan received 83 votes.
At Polling Station No. 1 Chowr Gawaray in LA-14 Western Bagh, Unofficial and unconfirmed results showed Awami Dast-o-Bazu’s Sajid Abbasi leading with 226 votes. Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan secured 76 votes, while PPP’s Mubashir Ejaz and PML-N’s Raja Faisal each received only three votes.
In LA-15 Central Bagh, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Brigadier (retd.) Muhammad Khan also made an early impact. Unofficial and unconfirmed results from Lower Pichwal Kafalgarh polling station showed Brigadier (retd.) Muhammad Khan leading with 76 votes, while PML-N candidate Mushtaq Minhas was trailing with 20 votes.
PPP candidate Sardar Qamar Zaman has established an early lead in LA-16 Bagh. The first unofficial and unconfirmed results from Dhaday Khas Male polling station showed Sardar Qamar Zaman ahead with 98 votes, while PML-N candidate Sardar Mir Akbar secured 48 votes — giving the PPP candidate a 50-vote lead.
PPP candidate strengthened his position further at the Dhaday Khas Female polling station. According to the second unofficial and unconfirmed result, Sardar Qamar Zaman secured 106 votes against Sardar Mir Akbar’s 63 votes, giving him another 43-vote lead.
With results still pouring in from polling stations, the early numbers point to a fiercely contested electoral battle across Bagh. However, all figures remain unofficial and unconfirmed until formally announced by the relevant election authorities.
