2nd Phase Of Ajk Elections 2026 Latest Party Position As Pml N Leads

MUZAFFARABAD – Unofficial and provisional results from the second phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections continue to pour in on Monday, showing the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) winning 13 seats, while the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has secured five seats so far.

Polling was held on Sunday in eight constituencies of the Muzaffarabad Division and 12 refugee constituencies. Voting continued until 6:00 pm in the Muzaffarabad Division.

Polling in constituency LA-27 was postponed after election staff and polling materials could not reach the area because of bad weather and landslides. Elections at all 196 polling stations in the constituency were deferred.

According to unofficial and non-final results from 18 of the 20 constituencies, PML-N emerged as the leading party with victories in 13 seats, while PPP won five.

In LA-25 Neelum Valley-I, PML-N’s Shah Ghulam Qadir won with 18,925 votes, defeating PPP’s Mian Abdul Waheed, who received 13,596 votes.

PPP’s Sardar Mukhtar Khan won LA-29 Muzaffarabad-III with 19,792 votes, ahead of PML-N’s Barrister Iftikhar Ali Gillani, who secured 16,413 votes.

In LA-26 Neelum Valley-II, PPP’s Mian Abdul Waheed secured victory with 17,466 votes, while PML-N’s Shah Ghulam Qadir finished second with 15,494 votes.

PML-N’s Mustafa Bashir Abbasi won LA-30 Muzaffarabad-IV with 17,749 votes, defeating PPP’s Mubashir Munir Awan, who polled 11,947 votes.

Former AJK prime minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider of PML-N won LA-32 Muzaffarabad-VI with 21,156 votes, while PPP’s Sahibzada Muhammad Ashfaq Zafar received 19,010 votes.

PPP’s Diwan Ali Khan Qamar Chughtai won LA-33 Muzaffarabad-VII with 25,469 votes, ahead of PML-N’s Mian Muhammad Rashid, who secured 21,175 votes.

In the refugee constituencies, PML-N recorded victories in LA-34 Jammu-I, LA-35 Jammu-II, LA-36 Jammu-III, LA-37 Jammu-IV, LA-38 Jammu-V, and LA-39 Jammu-VI.

PPP won LA-40 Kashmir Valley-I, while PML-N secured LA-41 Kashmir Valley-II, LA-42 Kashmir Valley-III, LA-43 Kashmir Valley-IV, and LA-44 Kashmir Valley-V.

PPP also claimed victory in LA-45 Kashmir Valley-VI.

The results remain unofficial and provisional, with the election process continuing until the final results are formally announced.
