LAHORE – At least five drug dealers were killed in alleged police encounters, the sources close to CCD Chuhang and CCD Iqbal Town police confirmed on Tuesday.
The sources said that the deceased have been identified as Ashiq, Azeem, Khurram, Aslam, and Javed. They were being taken for the recovery of seized narcotics when their accomplices opened fire in an attempt to free them. During the exchange of gunfire, four of the suspects were killed.
The police added that in Chuhang, another alleged encounter with CCD police resulted in the death of suspect Javed.
All bodies were sent for post-mortem examination, an the police are investigating the matter.
Earlier this year in August, a man from Multan, who got famous online after showing his middle finger to women on the streets, faced an unexpected fate, as his infamous finger is now broken.
In a video clip, the man said he tried escaping during raid but fell off his bike. In twist of fate, the same middle finger that made him viral was fractured in crash.
The man has since issued an apology, saying his “gesture was shameful” and admitting that the injury itself feels like a form of punishment.
Social media exploded with reactions, with users calling the incident “karma at its finest” and circulating memes about the ‘rise and fall of the finger’.
Police said the man remains under investigation for harassment and other related offenses.
