Tribal nomads from Dhar Bani area of Kathua district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have filed a petition in the High Court challenging the order of the authorities in which they were asked to leave grazing land.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the administration through the order issued on October 3 this year had transferred the state land measuring 450 kanals in favour of the Horticulture Department for the establishment of a nursery for high-density plants. During the hearing, the petitioners’ counsel told the Bench that the land in question was a part of the Bani Wildlife Sanctuary, notified by the Forest Department in an order dated December 10, 2019. The court fixed further hearing in the petition on December 11.—KMS
