Artists of the twin cities along with the general public paid glowing tributes to the martyrs and ghazis of the Operation Bunyan-un-Marsous during a ceremony organized at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts.
Federal Minister for National Heritage & Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Parliamentary Secretary for National Heritage and Culture Farah Naz was the Guest of Honour.
Artists of the twin cities on the occasion sang songs reflecting patriotism and love for the country.
They expressed their readiness to sacrifice their lives for the sake of their country.
We artists, though sing songs of peace want peaceful co-existence with our neighbours but when someone threatens our country’s security and puts its to risk, we prove an iron wall and stand firmly behind the defence forces, they said.
Addressing on the occasion, Aurangzeb Khichi declared May 10 a golden day in the history of Pakistan when Pakistan’s brave forces brought an enemy many times bigger in size and mightier in resources to its knees.
He paid glowing tributes to the armed forces of Pakistan for giving a befitting reply to the Indian aggression.
India misunderstood our desire for peace and bilateral coexistence as a sign of weakness, he said and the Pakistan army thus had to teach it a lesson, he said.
Farah Naz also paid glowing tributes to the defence forces and termed their victory against India an historic and significant chapter in Pakistan’s defence history.
At the end Director General (DG) of the PNCA, Muhammad Ayoub Jamali expressed gratitude to the participants as well as the guests.
We are proud of our brave soldiers of the ground force, Pakistan Navy and the pilots of the PAF, he said and paid tributes to the Army, Naval and the Air Force Chiefs for infusing a new spirit in the forces under their command.
