ISLAMABAD – Army ordered fact-finding inquiry after officer’s wife made serious allegations against her husband on social media over alleged undisclosed marriage, financial neglect and family pressure.
The woman, posting through the social media handle @magichoursbyme, alleged that her husband married her without informing authorities and subsequently kept hidden later.
According to her account, the couple spent around two months living together in Attock Cantt, during which she claimed her husband deliberately kept her hidden from the Army. She alleged that he had warned her that if the military authorities discovered the marriage through someone else, it could lead to complications. The allegations did not stop there.
In another post, the woman claimed she had been living at her parents’ house for nearly three months after her husband allegedly refused to take her back home. She further alleged that he had failed to provide money for her basic needs and had refused to return her personal belongings despite repeated requests.
She also accused her husband and his family of allegedly subjecting her and her family to sustained pressure and blackmail. According to her claims, they were being pushed to accept certain terms and conditions, with the continuation of the marriage allegedly being made conditional on their acceptance.
The woman appealed directly to the relevant Army authorities, urging them to take the allegations seriously and conduct a proper investigation. She questioned how an officer serving in the armed forces could allegedly become involved in such circumstances and called for scrutiny of the events surrounding her marriage.
Army, meanwhile, has taken notice of the social media allegations and ordered a fact-finding inquiry. The matter is being treated as a matrimonial dispute, with the position that such personal and family matters should be taken before the appropriate court or legal forum rather than being aired on social media.
Pakistan Army is known for maintaining strict discipline, accountability and institutional standards in matters involving its personnel, with no room for leniency where any violation of rules or conduct is established. The fact-finding inquiry is therefore expected to examine the allegations objectively and determine the facts in accordance with the applicable laws, regulations and military procedures. Until the inquiry is completed, the allegations remain claims and should not be treated as established facts.
