WASHINGTON – 25 years after September 11 attacks jolted US and changed the world forever, US President Donald Trump delivered a powerful message from the Pentagon, America has not forgotten, and it will not stop fighting the threats it faces.
Speaking at memorial ceremony marking 25th anniversary of the attacks, Trump paid tribute to the 2,977 people killed on September 11, 2001, remembering the victims, their families and the countless others whose lives were changed by the tragedy. He said the United States would “never forget” the attacks and stressed that the country continued to confront terrorism and threats to its security.
POTUS recalled devastating morning when hijacked aircraft struck the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon, while another plane, United Flight 93, crashed in Pennsylvania after passengers and crew fought back against the hijackers.

He highlighted extraordinary courage shown aboard Flight 93, particularly remembering New Jersey passenger Todd Beamer, who prayed with a telephone operator before declaring “Let’s roll” as passengers prepared to resist the hijackers. Their desperate fight prevented the aircraft from reaching its intended target, with Flight 93 eventually crashing near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
For Trump, however, the anniversary was not simply about looking back. Turning to the threats facing America today, the president said the country must remain prepared to confront terrorism and protect its people. He also delivered a blunt warning over Iran’s nuclear programme, declaring that Iran would never have a nuclear weapon.
Addressing US military personnel, Trump praised their efforts and said America would continue confronting what he described as the world’s “leading sponsor of terrorism,” the Islamic Republic of Iran. The president said the United States had faced enormous challenges during the 25 years since 9/11 but had continued to move forward. Yet the scars of that day remain.
The attacks not only claimed thousands of lives but triggered wars, transformed US national security policy and left a lasting impact on survivors, first responders and their families.
Trump said the world had still not returned to the way it was before September 11, describing the attacks as a moment that permanently changed America.
As Washington marked quarter-century since the tragedy, Trump vowed that the victims would continue to be remembered and their sacrifices honored. He also pledged that America would keep defending its people, protecting its freedoms and confronting the threats it believes could endanger future generations.
