ISLAMABAD – Apple’s latest iPhone 18 Pro arrived with a hefty price tag for Pakistani buyers, with the starting cost reaching an estimated Rs582,000 after PTA charges.
Apple officially unveiled its much-awaited iPhone 18 series, but for Pakistani buyers, the biggest surprise may come when the flagship phones arrive in the local market, with the iPhone 18 Pro Max potentially crossing the Rs6 lakh mark after PTA registration charges. The latest flagship launch brought upgraded cameras, a new-generation processor, and the company’s first foldable iPhone, but the excitement comes with a major price warning for consumers in Pakistan.
256GB iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, while the 256GB iPhone 18 Pro Max begins at $1,299, both representing a $100 increase over their predecessors.

At current exchange rates, the US prices translate into approximately Rs332,000 for the iPhone 18 Pro and Rs360,000 for the Pro Max, before Pakistani taxes and PTA-related charges.
And that is where the price could skyrocket.
Apple announced the new pricing during its September 9 launch event. Although reports of a $100 increase had circulated before the event, the eventual hike was still lower than some analysts had previously predicted. Apple is also part of a wider premium smartphone pricing trend.
What’s New in iPhone 18
Beyond the price, Apple has packed the Pro models with several hardware changes. Both the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are powered by the new A20 Pro chip, built on a 2-nanometre manufacturing process. Apple has also introduced a new vapour chamber to help the devices maintain performance during demanding activities such as gaming and AI workloads.
The camera system has received one of the most notable upgrades. The new 48MP Fusion Main camera features a variable aperture, giving users manual aperture control for the first time on an iPhone. The system can also automatically adjust the aperture depending on lighting conditions and the desired depth-of-field effect.
Apple has expanded the Camera app with professional controls covering shutter speed, white balance, aperture and exposure. Photographic Styles also receive new texture and grain controls. Dynamic Island has been made smaller and can display up to three Live Activities simultaneously.
The new Pro models also support Apple Intelligence and the latest Siri AI experience through iOS 27. The iPhone 18 Pro features a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max comes with a larger 6.9-inch screen.
