The All Parties Hurriyat Conference-AJK chapter has expressed their grave concern over the plight of illegally detained leaders and activists of the resistance movement of Kashmir, languishing in jails and interrogation centers of India and within the occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The APHC-AJK in a statement issued in Islamabad while referring to the ailing illegally detained leaders said that despite the deteriorating health conditions of the prisoners belonging to the resistance movement of Kashmir, the fascist jail authorities have turned a deaf ear to the genuine demands of the prisoners to provide them medical treatment and basic amenities as per jail manual. Keeping in view the multiple ailments, unhygienic food and jail environment the lives of the inmates has become vulnerable to the dangerous diseases. Strongly condemning the denial of the basic amenities including medical facilities, APHC AJK termed it a brazen violation of the prisoners’ rights as guaranteed by the Human Rights Charter of 1948.
The APHC-AJK said that the APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Dr. Mohammad Qasim Fakhtoo, Asiya Andrabi, Ameer Hamza, Assadullah Parray, Nayeem Khan and others are suffering from multiple ailments, without the jail facilities as recommended by the jail manual.—INP
