ACP hosts enchanting children’s play “Ali and the Dragon”

On the 36th day of the 38-day World Culture Festival, the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi delighted audiences with a captivating children’s theater production titled “Ali and the Dragon.” Held in Auditorium I, the play attracted enthusiastic participation from students of various schools, who were thoroughly engaged throughout the performance. Written by Uzma Sabeen and featuring music composed by the esteemed Arshad Mehmood, the production showcased a talented cast that included Haris Khan, Iram Basheer, Ahmer Hussain, Hammad Khan, Faraz Chhotani, Zubi Fatima, Hassan Alam, and Asif Shehzad. Spanning a duration of one hour, the play tells the enchanting story of a benevolent king whose kingdom is threatened by a destructive dragon that devastates their crops, leaving the people on the brink of starvation. In a bid to save his subjects, the king vows a grand reward for anyone brave enough to vanquish the dragon. Enter Ali, a courageous young man, and Shaheen, the royal chef, who embark on a daring quest to confront the menacing creature and restore peace to their land. The children in attendance responded with enthusiasm, clapping and cheering as they enjoyed the thrilling adventure unfolding on stage. The performance not only entertained but also imparted valuable lessons about bravery and teamwork, making it a memorable experience for young audiences and a highlight of the World Culture Festival.
