PESHAWAR — Director General ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry met university students and senior faculty members for a discussion on security, peace and the challenges facing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Students from different universities across the northwestern region participated in an interactive session, raising questions about counterterrorism efforts, national security and the military’s responsibilities.

Army spokesperson said intelligence-based operations in KP would continue until last terrorist was eliminated. He emphasised that unity and the rule of law were essential to defeating hostile forces and elements seeking to undermine Pakistan’s peace. He welcomed younger generation’s confidence in the armed forces and praised their commitment to the country’s security, highlighting the importance of a shared national effort to overcome security challenges.

The exchange gave participants an opportunity to discuss issues affecting their province directly with the military spokesperson. Students presented him with a traditional Pashtun turban and shawl, reflecting the region’s customary hospitality.

Participating students also expressed their willingness to contribute to national defence and stand alongside the armed forces in protecting the country. The discussion had helped explain the reasons behind governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and what the student described as its positive effects. Another said the session had strengthened their understanding of the military’s security responsibilities and expressed pride in the armed forces.
Participants also thanked the DG ISPR for the interaction, saying such discussions helped young people better understand national security matters and develop more informed perspectives on the challenges facing Pakistan.
