Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Sunday directed the provincial Advisory Council to prioritise restoring law and order, eliminating corruption and improving public services.
Chairing a meeting of the council established after the imposition of emergency and governor’s rule in the province, he called for faster decision-making, greater accountability and improved performance, saying the administration must demonstrate a clear difference from its predecessors.
Kundi identified countering terrorism as the government’s foremost priority and announced plans to strengthen the capacity of the provincial police and Counter Terrorism Department.
He said the Pakhtun community was among the biggest victims of terrorism, stressing that the fight was against terrorist networks and ideologies rather than the people of the province.
Kundi added that the council would focus on healthcare, education and employment, while restoring peace to attract tourists and investors to KP.
