KARACHI – Toyota Corolla Cross hybrid buyers have reason to cheer as prices come down, with latest GST relief bringing cuts of up to half million.
Indus Motor Company cutting prices by up to Rs570,000 after the government reduced the sales tax on locally manufactured hybrid vehicles. Toyota Corolla Cross HEV X is now available for Rs9.729 million, down Rs570,000 from its previous price of Rs10.299 million. Meanwhile, the regular Corolla Cross HEV has been reduced by Rs550,000 to Rs9.299 million, compared with its earlier price of Rs9.849 million.
Toyota Corolla Cross new prices
The revised prices are ex-factory Karachi and took effect from September 13, 2026, according to Toyota’s notification.
Why did Corolla Cross prices fall?
The price reduction follows the government’s decision to bring the sales tax on locally manufactured HEVs with engine capacities of up to 2,000cc down to 18% from 25%.
The change came after the earlier tax concession expired on June 30. Under the previous regime, qualifying hybrid vehicles benefited from reduced sales tax rates, with the Corolla Cross among the models affected when the concession ended.
Toyota or Honda? Latest sales figures reveal July 2026 winner
Toyota had sharply increased Corolla Cross hybrid prices in July after the tax rate moved to 25%. The HEV X jumped from Rs8.935 million to Rs10.299 million, while the standard HEV rose from Rs8.535 million to Rs9.849 million.
The latest cuts therefore reverse part of those increases, although both Corolla Cross hybrid variants remain more expensive than they were before the July tax change.
The HEV X is still Rs794,000 above its earlier Rs8.935 million price, while the standard HEV remains Rs764,000 higher than its previous Rs8.535 million price.
Honda HR-V Price Update
Toyota’s move comes alongside price reductions announced by Honda Atlas Cars Ltd for its HR-V lineup.
The Honda HR-V e has been reduced by Rs1.07 million, falling from Rs10.369 million to Rs9.299 million. The HR-V VTi-S has also received a Rs500,000 reduction, taking its price from Rs7.799 million to Rs7.299 million.
Honda said the revised rates apply to limited stock, with the new prices applicable to orders invoiced from September 25.
The latest price revisions come amid continued uncertainty in Pakistan’s automobile sector following the expiry of the Automotive Industrial Development Policy 2021-26 on June 30. The industry had expected a new automotive policy from July 1, but the replacement framework has yet to be announced. Automakers have previously said the uncertainty has affected production planning, investment decisions and vehicle invoicing.
For hybrid buyers, however, the reduction in sales tax has now begun translating into lower showroom prices, with the Toyota Corolla Cross HEV lineup among the latest models to receive substantial price relief.
