KARACHI – For Pakistani travelers with passion for exploring Europe, PIA comes with exciting news. Through its new partnership with foreign airline, passengers can now travel to 21 European cities on a single PIA ticket, making journeys smoot and opening the door to more destinations than ever before.
Just weeks after its privatization, PIA has taken another step toward rebuilding its global network. Through a new partnership with Air France, passengers can now travel to 21 European cities on a single PIA ticket.
The agreement promises simplified bookings, and wider access to Europe, marking one of the airline’s biggest international collaborations in recent years.
The announcement comes just weeks after PIA’s privatization, with the airline’s new management moving quickly to roll out its ambitious turnaround strategy. Backed by fresh investment, the carrier is preparing for a massive fleet expansion, aiming to increase its operational aircraft from fewer than 20 today to nearly 40 in the coming years, with a long-term target of more than 60 aircraft.
Beyond adding new jets, the revival plan includes refurbishing existing aircraft, modernizing cabins, improving punctuality, enhancing customer service, and restoring international routes. The airline is also targeting expansion into key markets including the UK, Canada, and eventually the United States, while exploring partnerships with global carriers to strengthen its international network.
With massive investment in restructuring and legacy liabilities removed before privatization, the new owners acknowledge the turnaround will take time. Air France partnership is being seen as one of the first major milestones in PIA’s transformation, signaling the airline’s determination to reclaim its position as a competitive international carrier.
