Residents of Karachi are advised to plan Thursday around power interruptions as K-Electric rolls out citywide maintenance drive, resulting in temporary electricity shutdowns across dozens of areas of port city.
The planned outages, scheduled for July 23 are part of K-Electric’s ongoing operations to support Karachi’s electricity distribution network and improve long-term supply reliability. Most of the maintenance work will take place between 8:00am and 6:00pm, although some feeders will remain offline for different durations depending on operational requirements.

KE said the maintenance campaign is aimed at upgrading critical infrastructure, improving network stability, and reducing the risk of unexpected power failures in the future. While the outages are temporary, the utility acknowledged that customers in the affected areas will remain without electricity until work on their respective feeders is completed.
Residents and businesses have been advised to plan ahead, particularly those relying on uninterrupted electricity for commercial operations, water supply, or essential household activities. The company also urged the public to stay clear of electrical installations while maintenance crews are carrying out the work.
