ABU DHABI – The tensions in the Middle East on Monday rose amid renewed concerns of war on Iran, with Israeli media claiming that dozens of US cargo aircraft carrying ammunition and military equipment have landed in Israel with aim of new war on Iran.
The aircraft arrived at multiple military bases where weapons, missiles, and other defence-related supplies were delivered as per the reports of international media.
The reports suggested that the shipments may be linked to preparations for a potential escalation involving Iran.
The developments come at a time when regional tensions remain high, with continued US military support to Israel being closely watched. The reported arrival of cargo aircraft has been described by observers as a significant and unusual development, although there has been no official confirmation from either US or Israeli authorities.
The analysts warned that the already volatile situation in the Middle East could deteriorate further if diplomatic efforts fail to ease tensions. Iran has repeatedly stated that it would respond strongly to any attack or pressure, raising fears of further escalation.
Separately, the diplomatic friction has also increased between Iran and the United Arab Emirates over Abu Dhabi’s growing ties with Israel.
According to reports cited by Qatari media, Mohsen Rezaei, military secretary to Iran’s Supreme Leader, warned that Tehran is closely monitoring UAE-Israel relations. He cautioned that while Iran has not severed ties with the UAE, its patience is not unlimited.
He urged the UAE to avoid aligning itself with Israeli policies, warning that such cooperation could further destabilize the region.
The reports also claimed that during recent Iran-Israel hostilities, the UAE was impacted by Iranian missile and drone strikes, while some unverified allegations suggested Emirati involvement in anti-Iran activities.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also criticized the UAE during a BRICS summit, saying Abu Dhabi had failed to condemn attacks on Iran or reassess its regional stance. He added that Iran had deliberately avoided naming the UAE directly in the spirit of regional unity, while expecting stronger diplomatic support from neighboring states.
Meanwhile, Israeli media previously reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a secret visit to the UAE during the conflict and held meetings with Emirati leadership. The UAE government has strongly denied these claims.
The experts say the combination of rising Israel-Iran tensions and worsening Iran-UAE relations could further heighten instability across the Gulf region, where security conditions are already fragile.
