The First Lady of Pakistan and Member of the National Assembly (MNA), Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, inaugurated the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Block at the Global Hub Girls’ Cadet College Malir on Tuesday. The ceremony was a celebration of progress in girls’ education and leadership opportunities in Pakistan. The event brought together prominent figures, including Commander Sohaib, CEO of Girls’ Cadet College Malir; Abdul Qadir Jaffer, Patron-in-Chief of Jaffer Foundation; Sindh Education Minister Sardar Shah; and Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho. Several leaders from the education, health, and government sectors were also present to show their support.

Female cadets from Cadet College Jhang honored the Chief Guest with a Guard of Honour. Aseefa Bhutto Zardari then unveiled the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Block, a facility dedicated to empowering girls through quality education and leadership development. Speaking at the event, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari paid tribute to her late mother, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, stating, “Today, we honor the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, who believed in the transformative power of education for all, especially for women.

This block is more than just a building—it is a testament to her dream of a Pakistan where every girl has the tools to shape her future and lead with confidence.” She highlighted the critical role of women in society, saying, “Educated women are the cornerstone of a prosperous society.

By investing in their education, we are investing in the future of Pakistan. I am deeply moved to see the dedication of the staff, the enthusiasm of the students, and the unwavering support from all stakeholders who made this vision a reality.” Other speakers praised the initiative for its role in fostering leadership and skill development. They recognized the contributions of the Jaffer Foundation and Falcon Education System in making the project a success. Sindh Education Minister Sardar Shah reiterated the provincial government’s commitment, stating, “Education is a fundamental right, and we are committed to supporting such institutions that focus on the betterment of our youth.”

Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho assured continued support for the health and well-being of students and staff. Aseefa Bhutto Zardari called the new block a “beacon of hope,” emphasizing that it would nurture future leaders who will shape Pakistan’s future. “This facility will nurture leaders who will contribute to our nation and beyond. I am proud to be part of this journey towards empowering women through education,” she said.
